Oh boy what a day!. Turned up to meet PaulP at 9am to find about 10 on the water and Carl walking up the beach with a very gory cut on his forehead. Paul was a true gent and fell on his sword by offering to take Carl up to the hospital. He asked me to keep an eye on him while he de-rigged. That was hard so soon after breakfast - his forehead was not a sight for the faint hearted. Apparently he crunched on the boom mid loop. 10 stitches and a few weeks looking like Herman Munster - hope you get sorted soon Carl

Paul had told me to rig a 5m, but most people were on 4.2's and saying they were stacked so I rigged 4.5 just as the most torrential rain came through. 15mins later the wind felt lighter so I quickly rigged my 5m and hit the water. Mistake. Another rain band hit and the gusts were hitting like hammers. Most packed up with the rain so there were only three of us. The rain stopped and I quickly changed back down to 4.5, which was still too much for a while and along with sailing on my own, it was looking like it was going to be a rubbish day. However, the wind settled down to perfect 4.5m weather and suddenly at about 10.45 the sun came out and the waves instantly shaped up and smoothed out. I've never had a session with such consistant waves. I could catch one every time on the way in and grab 3-4 turns (properly - which is something I hadn't really mastered before) before heading out again through some brilliant jumping ramps. The current seemed to take you nicely upwind each time too. Best hour of windsurfing I've ever had and when I came in there were three old dears who actually game me a round of applause!. Top day - I can't see how FatFace can be anything other than excellent with these conditions.

Good to meet Grawp too. Now there's a man on a mission to take on every beach in the UK - and all on the same day. Hope you scored some good stuff at venue 2.
